The 51th Kawasaki Daishi Takigi Noh Play

Noh and Kyogen plays are performed in a fantastic atmosphere by a bonfire. This is a great opportunity to casually enjoy traditional Japanese performing arts in an open-air setting, and is recommended for first-time visitors as well. Every year in early summer, a special stage is set up outdoors at Heiken-ji Temple (a.k.a. Kawasaki Daishi) to stage performances of Noh and Kyogen, traditional Japanese performing arts. The stage is lit by a bonfire to create a fantastic atmosphere, and the prestigious performances are well received by people from inside and outside the city as well as foreigners.
